Production Log 4

What progress did you make since your previous entry?
The progress which i made from my previous entry, is i was able to roughly put all my clips together in the order of which i wanted them to go in, on the timeline. I also was able to make a progress in being able to start putting my filming together and also realise that i needed to include more custways for my interview as the interview was very long and will not engage the audience.

What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
The logistical challenges which i had faced is becuase the weather was very bad on the day i wanted to film the closing sequence of my documemtary, i had to overcome this by filming in doors, but also making sure that i keep my audeince intrested. Another logistical challenge which i had faced is having problems of using tyhe internet as the connection was very slow, i overcame that by asking for help and the teacher made sure that all the wires in the mac were connected in order for me to use the inetrnet.

What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?

The technical challegenes which i had faced is when coming to edit on final cut express, it first did not allow me to open up my project, i had tried many times to resolve the problem at the end i thereafter overcame the problem by asking the teacher for help, who told me to make sure that i am saving my work regularly.

What targets do you aim to achieve before your next entry?
The targets which i aim to achieve before my next entry is making sure that all my footage that i want to use is roughly edit, i also want to make sure that by next week i have my full documentary edited in order to get feedback and improve on my work.

Production Log 3

What progress did you make since your previous entry?
The progress which i had made since my previous entry is i had started editing, i first had imported all the footage on to the Mac, i thereafter was able to start editing my footage. I also feel that now i am confident and i am able to edit indepently, this was the struggle which i thought i will face as i am not to confident on using the mac but as long with time i have learnt how to edit on final cut express and also had to insert graphics from livetype. This week i have started putting my footage together, and in the process of putting my documentary together. 

What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
The logistical challenges which i had faced is i had needed to interview a teacher from a state school, the teacher which i had written down on my final contact list was not able to do it as my teacher was not free with the times best suited to my timetable as my teacher had lessons. I thereafter came with a plan B of interviewing a teacher who had time and was willing to be interviewed by me, she is the head of department for art/ creative studies. 

What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?
The technical challenges i faced is not being able to upload all my footage, i then asked for help and my teacher was apply to guide me as to where i had gone wrong and had overcome the problem by listening carefully to what my teacher has told me to do.

What targets do you aim to achieve before your next entry?
Starting to wrap up my documentary, making sure that i have enough cutaways during each interview to make sure that my documentary is interesting. 

Production Log 2

What progress did you make since your previous entry?
The progress i made since my last entry is that i started filming for my documentary. I had started filming from the introduction of my documentary, and filming Chadwell Heath Academy as this was one of the easiest locations i could get to. During this weekend i also filmed in Azhar Academy on Saturday as this is a day where girls have islamic classes running in the morning, this will allow me to film a student who is studying at Azhar Academy and the islamic head teacher. I have tried to stick to my production schedule in order to make sure that i film everything before the filming deadline.  

What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
The logistical challenges i faced is firstly the location of filming the beginning of my documentary, i wanted to do it in the park but as for the park being busy with many dogs and children playing i decided to change the location, by filming on a quiet side road, where the lighting was perfect and the sound of the wind was not too strong. 

What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?
The technical challenges i faced this week, the camera filmed shots which were very dark and not to clear, i overcame that by re shooting and checking the settings before i started filming again.  

What targets do you aim to achieve before your next entry?
The targets which i aim to achieve before my next entry is making sure that i have filmed everything possible for my documentary including the visit to Azhar Academy, Chadwell Heath Academy and lastly all my interviews with students and teachers. Next week i aim to start editing the beginning of my documentary and do any re filming if it is required.   

Production Log 1

What progress did you make since your previous entry?

The progress which i have made since my last entry is making sure that my blogger is all up to date and making sure that all the pre production is done before i go to film for my documentary. I also have made sure that all the interviews with the different people are confirmed and choosen exactly wjhich days i will be filming when and who i will be filming.   

What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them? 
The logistical challenges which i faced is firstly who i had in mind as for my crew, but the person was not able to do it, as they have exams next week, so i have used Serife to be my camera operator as i have worked with her before and she is very good in dealing with the camera and has the skills of what shot would look best.  

What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?

I did not face any technical changes this week, as this week involved me in doing the pre production for my documentary. Although i did face problems on uploading my work to Skydrive as first it did not allow me to do it, i then overcame this by trying again later which then happened to work.

What targets do you aim to achieve before your next entry?
The target which i aim to achieve is making sure that my pre production is done up to a good standard, which then allows my media teacher to sign out me a camera and tripod in order to go and film my documentary. When i get the camera and tri pod to film i will make sure that i stick to my production schedule in order to get it done before the deadline.
